First of all , this is not another coleslaw recipe! Yes there is cabbage in it, and it does have a vinegar in it, O.K. I guess it is a type of coleslaw but not your typical all American coleslaw, but a wonderful version of it!

Yummy, just thinking about it makes me want to whip up a bowl to serve with my chicken tonight! Besides those packages of Top Ramen soup in my pantry

don’t seem to be going anywhere of late!

Again this is a perfect salad to take with you on a pot luck or to enjoy in warm weather since there is no Mayo in it and can hold up to just about any proteins that might be on the menu! Just make sure you put the noodles in the salad last prior to dressing it and serve within the hour or the noodles will get soggy!

SALAD:

1 small head of green cabbage

8 tablespoons sesame seeds or sunflower seeds

2 pkgs. Top Ramen soup, any flavor, uncooked, (if cutting calories just use 1 pkg if you like)

8 tablespoons slivered almonds

8 green onions chopped,(both green and white parts)

DRESSING:

4 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon pepper

2 teaspoon Accent (optional), aka M.S.G.

2 teaspoon salt

6 tablespoon rice wine vinegar, (found in oriental section)

Toast or brown almonds and seeds in oven, (this does not take long, careful not to burn!). Mix cabbage and onions in a large bowl. No longer than 1 hour before serving add seeds, almonds and crushed Ramen noodles (no seasoning packet in this salad just discard the flavor packets that come with the noodles). Mix the dressing ingredients well and pour over the salad.

Serve promptly.
