But it has been around for a long while and it is easy and delicious! The original recipe uses cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple, but you can switch it up, and it is equally as good!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling\u00a0\u00a0 ( switch it up by using two cans and omitting pineapple) <strong>or\u00a0<\/strong>(1 can cherry and 1 can apple)<\/p>\n<p>1 ( 20 oz,) can crushed pineapple, undrained<\/p>\n<p>1 box yellow or white cake mix<\/p>\n<p>1 stick of butter<\/p>\n<p>1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1: Empty cans of fruit into a 9 x 12 x 2 inch baking dish, ( greased or sprayed with cooking spray).<\/p>\n<p>2: Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over pie canned fruit.<\/p>\n<p>3: Melt butter and drizzle over cake mix.<\/p>\n<p>4: Sprinkle with nuts<\/p>\n<p>5: Bake at 350 for about an hour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 ENJOY!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know &#8230;the name is terrible!
