It is a comfort food to me because I find it comforting that I still like the taste and there is something to be said about a food or meal that can take you back in time with fond memories. I don&#8217;t make this much anymore but when I do it is always a treat!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 pound hamburger or ground turkey\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/recipes.theskinnyonscv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/3199863645_a6981089df1.jpgham-stro1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-145\" title=\"3199863645_a6981089df.jpgham stro\" src=\"http:\/\/recipes.theskinnyonscv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/3199863645_a6981089df1.jpgham-stro1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/recipes.theskinnyonscv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/3199863645_a6981089df1.jpgham-stro1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/recipes.theskinnyonscv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/3199863645_a6981089df1.jpgham-stro1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/recipes.theskinnyonscv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/3199863645_a6981089df1.jpgham-stro1.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1 medium onion, chopped (about 1\/2 to 3\/4 cup)<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup margarine or butter<\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons flour<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>1 large clove garlic, finely chopped<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 tsp pepper<\/p>\n<p>1 can (15 ounces) mushroom stems and peices, drained<\/p>\n<p>1 can (10 3\/4 oz) cream of chicken soup<\/p>\n<p>1 cup sour cream or unflavored yogurt<\/p>\n<p>3 cups hot cooked egg noodles (about 8 ounces dry)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cook and stir meat and onion in butter in a large skillet until hamburger is light brown. Stir in flour, salt, garlic, pepper and mushrooms. Cook stirring constantly for about 5 minutes. Stir in soup. Heat to boiling while stirring; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered about 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream; heat through.
